The Mackay Regional Council is developing a premier network of mountain bike trails in Pioneer Valley, aiming to boost local tourism and economic growth.
Highlights
- Connections: The network will feature approximately 95km of trails with stage one opened in April 2024 offering 14.5km of varying difficulty trails and facilities.
- Attraction: Since opening, the trails have attracted 114,000 visitors benefiting local businesses in Finch Hatton and Eungella.
- Mentoring: Council is supporting local businesses through a Small Business Mentoring Program and by promoting FHMTB branded merchandise, generating significant sales.
This project not only enhances the visitor economy, as a thriving mountain-biking destination, but is creating partnership opportunities to promote local businesses bringing new economic life to the region.
